- The Minister of Defense, François Léotard confirmed the start of the withdrawal of French troops at the end of the month, starting with 300 soldiers.
- In Kigali, Rwandans are trying to learn to live again. Among them are religious, hard hit by the war. Little by little, some are leaving the convents where they had taken refuge.
- The Bernardines school seems abandoned. And yet, inside, for three months, 18 sisters have survived without leaving. Death haunts Josephine. She can't seem to forget a night in April. That day she was unable to protect the families who had taken refuge under her roof. The army entered and took away all the men.
- Today, Joséphine Mukamunana dares to go outside for the first time. She goes in search of three of her sisters from whom she has no news. Dozens of kilometers from Kigali, on the main street of Rwamagana, a surprise awaits him: they are alive as well as two other Fathers. What they experienced, what they saw shook them. They are uncomfortable, as if they have something to blame themselves for, as if they are responsible for the misfortune around them.
- The Church comes out of this war traumatized. The seminars are empty, the young people have left or have been massacred. The population no longer respects priests and what is sacred. Too much has been killed in churches and cathedrals. As for the new owners, the RPF soldiers, they are suspicious: they do not forget that the Archbishop of Kigali was close to the old regime.
