- While Edouard Balladur is completing a trip to Beijing and Shanghai, in Rwanda, the civil war is said to have left tens of thousands of people dead. The first French were evacuated from Kigali this evening under the protection of Western soldiers. 400 French soldiers will be deployed on site.
