Abstract
- In Rwanda the French forces proceeded this morning to the evacuation of around forty nuns and eight orphans from a convent in Kibuye. These 40 nuns were threatened with death by government forces every day for months.
- The Hutus accuse the Tutsi clerics of being sympathizers of the RPF. They even go so far as to say that weapons have been hidden in churches. A government minister told us that he found it normal for Hutus to kill Tutsi.
- The Rwandan government has just confirmed that there have been nearly a million people killed in Rwanda in recent months.
- This morning 4 Mirage F1 left Reims to join Istres in the Bouches-du-Rhône, from where they will also leave for Rwanda to participate in this Turquoise mission. These devices are equipped with infrared photosensors capable of taking approximately 600 photos, all while covering approximately 60 to 100 kilometers of ground.
- In Rwanda, French soldiers are less than 20 kilometers from the lines of the Patriotic Front. The strength of Operation Turquoise now stands at 1,500 soldiers.
- In Kigali, the Blue Helmets are still powerless, there should be 5,500, there are 450. Their boss, General Dallaire, has been waiting for two months for reinforcements that do not come.
- Since the death of 13 of them and since the departure demanded by the RPF of the French-speaking contingents, we no longer see many peacekeepers in town. What we see flourish there on the other hand, are the French flags.
