Abstract
In the 2005 reissue of The Destruction of the Jews of Europe, Raul Hilberg (1926-2007) added five pages about the genocide in its purest form that began in Rwanda on April 7, 1994. He did not fully understand France's role in the preparation and execution of the genocide, but the recognition of it "suffers from no ambiguity". The losses of the Tutsi were according to him "proportionally as heavy as those of the Jews with their five million dead".
