Abstract
Since 2018, the international and interdisciplinary RwandaMAP project aims to the establish an international research team on the archival, heritage and memorial traces of the Genocide against the Tutsi in Rwanda. Many challenges have to be met. They relate to the risks of loss and destruction of archives, to the profusion of archival data and scientific works as well as the abundance of testimonies. They make it indispensable to create collective processes of knowledge increase. This paper aims to provide an initial assessment of the project by presenting its objectives and philosophy, the goals already achieved, and the questions raised by its first development phase.
