Comment
This report relates the Rambura skirmish near the Ndaba pass between an element of the GIAR (Sartre group) and the RPF. It appears that an element of the FAR is involved. Colonel Sartre came by helicopter and negotiated with the RPF. He had the FAR element disarmed. This leads one to think that it was the latter who, counting on French support, was at the origin of the clash that Jean d'Ormesson briefly related. Prime Minister Jean Kambanda and Defense Minister Augustin Bizimana went to Kibuye at that time.
