Abstract
Gilles de Robien: "Me, today, I am proud to be French. I am proud to be French because France has shown the example to the whole world. To the whole world! It reminds me of another affair of Elsewhere: the Kolwezi affair where France also set an example. And I can tell you that François Léotard told me and confirmed that France had already saved thousands of human lives in Rwanda. And that not only it had saved thousands of human lives, but it strengthened its dialogue with the RPF, that it was in a phase, and only phase in fact, of humanitarian operation. Humanitarian and obviously not military. And that it was in proposing to the whole world two things: on the one hand to create in the South-West of Rwanda a protection zone, a protected zone where refugees could come and where internationally the existence and security of men would be guaranteed and women who could come to that area. So I am proud to be French. Now other European countries and other countries around the world must follow. Already 60 Senegalese have left for Rwanda. It's a beginning ! But if there could be an international and already African force, that is to say truly a force of rapid and humanitarian intervention for the countries of Africa which would unfortunately experience the same fate, at that moment effectively the France would have set an example and I am proud of France".
