Abstract
- François Léotard in Zaire and Rwanda. The Minister of Defence, accompanied by Lucette Michaux-Chevry, the Minister Delegate for Humanitarian Action, visited the Operation Turquoise system.
- In the Nyarushishi camp, in the south-west of Rwanda, 8,000 Tutsi refugees are under the protection of paratroopers and legionnaires.
- French forces continue to deploy while avoiding confrontation with rebel or government troops. By the end of the week, Operation Turquoise will be running at full speed, the humanitarian component will be fully engaged.
