Abstract
- In Rwanda the rebels of the Patriotic Front are said to have seized the Kigali airport. Very intense fighting continues with government forces, preventing United Nations troops from deploying in the country.
- The United Nations wanted a ceasefire, the Rwandan rebels replied in the negative.
- After Kigali, the main objective of the RPF now seems to be Gitarama. A town 40 kilometers south-west of Rwanda and where the Interim Government has withdrawn.
- Refugees are believed to have moved around the country and on its borders in total.
- It is in a quagmire once more inextricable and with a limited mandate that the peacekeepers should therefore disembark.
