- While Edouard Balladur concludes his official visit to Beijing and Shanghai, in Rwanda, 280 French paratroopers have been in position since this morning very early on Kigali airport and 220 others should join them this evening to carry out the Amaryllis operation.
- According to information from the Red Cross, the bloody fighting has claimed thousands of lives.
- If the situation in the city seemed calmer last night, after the appointment yesterday [April 8] of an interim government, new shots are heard. And according to the latest information, the RPF troops reject the new government. They are said to be heading towards Kigali.
